New Priests and Deacons ordained in Jerusalem

On Tuesday 29 June a group of 6 new Franciscan priests and 5 deacons will be ordained at Saint Saviour parish church in Jerusalem by Mgr. Fuoad Twal, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem. These friars have successfully concluded their theological studies at the “Studium Theologicum Jerosolymitanum” of the Franciscan Holy Land Custody. (more…)

Tensions have been high between Israel and other nations, particularly Turkey, which has accused the Israelis of attacking a ship carrying peace activists who were transporting relief goods to Gaza by sea, trying to break the Israeli naval blockade in place since 2005.
